I can send you NSW (Australia) budget data in digital form

I requested, as an individual, some budget data from the NSW (Australia)
Treasury.
They have been kind enough to supply it, and I have just received a copy.

The data is in a 7 MB Microsoft Access (.mdb) file.
It contains linked tables for ministers (portfolios ), agencies, program
areas, programs, accounts (chart of accounts), and the amounts.
Let me know if you want a copy.

It contains data for 2001-2 (revised) and 2002-3 (budget).
The data is from the Budget Estimates section (Budget Paper 3).
It includes the operating statement data for each program (and program area)
and each agency (and portfolio).
It also includes cash flow and financial position data.

The data is shown in more detail than what is shown in the published budget.
For example, the budget shows one item for "employee related expenses", and
the data shows several more detailed items, such as "contractors and short
term staff".
I am figuring out now how to sort these detailed figures into the broader
headings shown in the budget.

I will put it on my website when I can find time.
In the meantime, you can find my earlier, and less complete, data by going
to:

and clicking on NSW Budget.

I think NSW Treasury, and Alan Austin, who supplied the data, deserve our
thanks for being so helpful.
