Dear Bill,
I am TECHNICAL manager of this list. There is no moderator. But you
have to be a member to post to it. You are subscribed as
<ecwfm@cc.newcastle.edu.au>. You sent the message as
<ecwfm@alinga.newcastle.edu.au>. The difference may have been enough for the
MAILMAN system to conclude that a non-member tried to send. But this seems a
bit restrictive to me -- the only dfference is the server name and that
shouldn't matter. I will look into this.
Anyway, what happens is that then the message goes to me as list owner, and
I am asked whether it shall be posted anyway. This is -- in the case of this list
misleadingly -- called "moderation" by the system. Technically, I could have
configured the system so that messages submitted by addresses the system
interpretes to be non-members, are simply bounced -- not held for possible
acceptance.
So, no moderation here, everyone subscribed shall get through unmoderated.
But please, all of you, make sure that the address you post from is completely
identical to the one you are subscribed under.
Trond Andresen
technical manager
